Explorers of Fort Washington

We spent a Sunday afternoon exploring Fort Washington across the Potomac River in Maryland. Mount Vernon is on the other side just a little to the south.The children prepare to cross over the draw-bridge.

Looking north up the Potomac River towards DC.

You can see the Washington Monument in the middle of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge that spans from the Virginia to the Maryland side.

What a glorious day.

(What the photos don't tell is that Grandma Judi had her cell phone & camera stolen. And that two weeks later a park employee found the case but the 2 main items were gone.)
