Giraffe

I saw a giraffe statue at the gardens and wanted mom to take my picture by it!

Water world

I had so much fun playing in the water at the new World of Wonders Children's garden! The frog fountain was my favorite b/c I got to guess which frog was going to spout water next!

Watering Mr. Worm

At the botanical garden they have water hand pumps that you can use to get water and help water the plants on statues like this worm! !

Like a Rose

I love smelling flowers! These yellow roses at the botanical garden were great!

Dry Skin?

I like to play with Mommy's lotion!
Oh, and these are my new cowboy boots!

"Take My Picture!"

I was eating ramen noodles for lunch and asked Mommy to take my picture! Here they are!

Jenga!

While we were at the cabin at Fort Story we played Jenga and Eleanor wanted to get in on the action. She had fun stacking the blocks and watching the tower fall down. "Aww!" she would say when they fell!

Sophie

Eleanor and Sophie love each other! They had so much fun playing together...Eleanor even held Sophie's bowl for her while she was eating her food! She liked throwing her ball for her too. Eleanor remembers when she went with Nanna and Popa to help pick their new puppy out and Eleanor got to hold her on the drive home! "She was so little!"

Let's go fly a kite!

Eleanor had her first kite-flying experience! She sings about it all the time b/c of seeing it on Mary Poppins, now she got to do it firsthand! She had fun but spent more time running around with Jasmine and Sophie (Nanna & Popas dog) than holding her "Dora" kite!

Cape Henry Lighthouse

We walked up to the tippy top of the Cape Henry Lighthouse (well, Daddy carried me on his shoulders, 191 steps!) It is the first lighthouse that congress commissioned, built in 1871 out of limestone. The newer black and white lighthouse has since replaced it, but it is an unusual sight to see two lighthouses so close to one another.

Fort Story Beach

Grandma Nanna & Daddy took me to Fort Story beach too. We walked along the beach and I got to pick up shells and throw them back in the water.

Beach Time!

I love playing at the beach with my Auntie Bekah! We had so much fun in the sand and surf. We even got to see the Blue Angels fly over...they were loud, I didn't like that!

Driving around VB

We rented a "bike car," or surrey, when we went to Virginia Beach! I got to help steer (it was a dummy wheel thank goodness!) and Grandma Nanna, Popa Brian, Aunt Bekah & Dad & Mom all got to ride with me! We went a long ways down the boardwalk and when we stopped to eat lunch I was SO tired from all that pedaling (Ha, her legs couldn't reach!) that I fell asleep in Daddy's arms. Aww...

The Dismal Swamp!

We went hiking in the Dismal Swamp! We used lots of bug spray and they actually weren't too bad...Papa Brian really wanted to go see the swamp. I rode on Auntie Bekah's shoulders so I could help look for bears. We didn't see any.

First Day of School

I had my first day of school September 7th. I go to a preschool in our neighborhood two mornings a week. Mom let me pick out my backpack and I take it with me to school every time I go. I was shy the first day but am doing better!

Makin' waffles

Yesterday we made waffles and smoothies for breakfast! I got to help Daddy beat the egg whites and stir the waffle mixture. They sure were yummy!

Fort Story Beach

Last weekend we went to Fort Story (an Army base in Virginia Beach) and explored the great beaches there. Jasmine had lots of fun swimming after her stick and chasing ghost crabs. Daddy and I built a sand castle and Mommy buried my legs in the sand! I can't wait to go back!

Ronald McDonald

We went here as a treat after Mommy's first ultrasound appointment at the Navy Hospital. I was so excited to finally get to see "Old McDonald" in person! (She confuses one of her favorite songs, Old MacDonald, with McDonald's the golden arches!)

Potty Time!

Emma & I are practicing sitting on the potty so we can be big girls!

Skeletons in your closet?

The girls thought these talking skeletons were hilarious! You would have thought they'd be afraid, but guess they don't know better...yet!

There's a Bear!

Hamming it up some more by the bear statue.

In the Doghouse

Eleanor & her friend Emma were in the doghouse at Busch Gardens! Our playgroup met here and a good time was had by all. (They really weren't in trouble, honest!)
