He is Risen!

Oscar, 4

Eleanor, 6

Sweet Siblings

Easter Baskets

The Easter Bunny hid Eleanor's basket in the bathtub!?!
It took Eleanor a long time to find it but it was worth the hunt!
She was excited to receive a "carrot" of her own as she had left some out for him to nibble on.

Oscar's was hid on top of the grandfather clock, he found it right after coming upstairs from helping Eleanor find hers. He was very excited about this Scooby Doo & Batman dvd. (yes, this is the best photo I got of him...busy boys are difficult to capture!)

18 Carat Cake

I made this yummy carrot cake, recipe from Juneau's Fiddlehead Restaurant.

$1

Oscar's opinion of the value of a dollar.

Our neighbor Aleka gave each child a dollar bill in an egg at the Easter Egg hunt and before I knew it Oscar had cut it all to pieces!

Easter Egg Hunt

Even Quantum wanted a basket to hunt for eggs!

6th Tooth lost

Eleanor lost her 6th tooth tonight while flossing for bedtime.

It has been loose for over a week now and was quite ready to come out.

It was her lower left lateral incisor. I love her new smile...she is super cute with all those front teeth missing!

Spring Flowers

Fragrant Hyacinths Camelia
Bleeding Heart

I was surprised to see it blooming so early in the year. In Southeast Alaska they bloom in July!

Red Maple Tree

We have four in our front & back yards.
Hosta

Tulips
Grape Hyacinth, also known as Muscari

Rollerskating

We are trying out a new sport: rollerskating!
Oscar, always the comedian, was pretend falling.

A lot. I think he was testing out his protective gear.

Love his concentration here!

Waffles

with homemade whipped cream.

Oscar loves to help with the hand-mixer!

Let's Play Ball!

Oscar had his first baseball game!

His team, the Nationals.

Oscar is in the center, 4th from the right. Notice he is wearing his XTratuff boots!

It had been raining so he put them on and we were half-way to the park when we realized we didn't have tennis shoes! He was adamant about NOT going back home to get them.

Oscar & his buddy Caleb were good sports and volunteered to play on the other team.

They didn't have enough players show up b/c they thought it had been rained out.

I love how quickly he got his pants dirty and could care less. He's a natural!

Batter Up!

The game is actually called Blastball, they hit off a T and run to the first base, which honks when they step on it. If an opposing player gets the ball and yells "Blast!" before they touch base they are out. There is no winning/loosing and every player gets to bat each inning.

Perfect for three & four year olds!

Coach gave everyone a baseball card when the game was over (it got rained out after 3 innings). We have a happy ball player, ready for his next game already! He will play games twice a week. There is also a nice playground at the park so Eleanor had a good time too.
