Mary Poppins

Nanna took all the girls to see Mary Poppins at the Kennedy Center.
(The boys were our personal driving attendants and went sightseeing.)

Eleanor, Nanna & Auntie Bekah, 3 Generations!
All smiles: Auntie & Eleanor
Eleanor & I in the Hall of Nations.
After the show we walked out the Hall of States and Eleanor was able to name a few, so impressive. The book of all the states IS sinking in!
Taken right before the show started...I got in trouble for taking this photo and the curtain backdrop didn't even show up. What a memorable evening, I would highly recommend it! Thank you Nanna!

Pool Time

Auntie Bekah & Eleanor had such fun in the pool together. She taught Eleanor how to dive underwater after her diving rings!

My little dancer

Eleanor & Sophie
Eleanor attended Irish Dance Camp mid-July.
She enjoyed it very much and had fun showing us her new steps at home too.
Thank you Aunt Muireann for the ghillies & poodle socks!

Boys

Oscar being silly with his money...
Relaxing with Poppa Brian & Sophie.
Happy Jasmine
"Wait for me Dad!"
So I wind this propeller/rubber band up tight and it moves the boat?
Daddy taking advantage of a teachable moment with his son.

Celebration

Eleanor got to celebrate her birthday again a week later in Norfolk thanks to her friend Emma! What a wonderful surprise: cake with her name and the number six on it and a gift.
Thank you Kacy, Danny, Emma & Abbey!

The Beach

Gwen & I at Chick's Beach.
Eleanor got stung by a jellyfish here and most likely will not ever forget it, ouch!
Little surfer boy.

Mermaid Eleanor

Free at last!
Oscar the Fish!

Our last beach day was spent at Virginia Beach.

Eleanor loved going out with her little kickboard into the big waves. Oscar was content to stand at the shoreline and "jump" them.

Build A Bear Workshop

We stayed in with my friend Gwen, she & I went to High School together and she recently moved to Norfolk so it was great to catch up. She spoiled my children by introducing them to Build A Bear!
Placing the heart in her bear.
Meet "Rainbow Sherbet!"
Eleanor had fun picking out a cute ice cream outfit and pink panties for her.
Eleanor giving her a "bath."
Oscar putting the fluff in his bear.
He had just woken up from a nap and was being shy.
Big sister helping Oscar "bathe Isaac" for the first time.
He put on a Buzz Lightyear costume!

High Seas Expedition

Danger? I stare into the face of danger and laugh!
The children and I drove to Norfolk to attend VBS at our beloved Ghent United Methodist Church. The theme this year was High Seas Expedtion and we even took a ride on the ferry!
Eleanor & Drew on the paddlewheeler heading to Portsmouth.
Eleanor & Norah.
The girls were so cute together...Eleanor was actually letting her pull her hair!?!
I usually have to point out how Oscar is a ladies man...but here, um, it looks like Norah knows what she wanted! In her defense, she did just start learning to give kisses. I love how she has her hand on his chin though!
Eleanor, Drew & Oscar posin' with the pirate at Waterside.

WaterSlide

Eleanor diving down head first...daredevil!

We were blessed to borrow this water slide from one of Eleanor's classmates while he was out of town on vacation. Our entire neighborhood was able to enjoy using it in the hot-n-humid weather we've been having. Oscar however didn't care for it unless the water was turned off and he would go up the slide backwards. Go figure!

Birthday Party

For Eleanor's Birthday party we took the girls to a nail salon for manicures and pedicures.

The girls had fun choosing their colors.
Eleanor chose orange for her fingernails & blue for her toenails.
The pink cake she requested with the fairy statue she chose.
I used pink sprinkles in the batter so even the inside of the cake was pink!
She enjoyed the magic (re-lighting) candles too!
