Precious Arrival
My first nephew, Carter Eric, arrived on Friday, October 17th at 10:11am! He weighs 8lbs 4 oz and is 19 inches long.
Meredith had just arrived home from a baby shower at work when her water broke and she went to the hospital at 6pm, Carter came the next morning. They are both doing well however they are considering him premature as he came 3 weeks early and had low blood sugar which they quickly resolved after 4 hours. Mark missed his arrival by 3 minutes as he had ran down to the shipyard to fill out his paternity leave paperwork, they called him and said to come back and he walked in to learn that he was too late!?! I think M&M are both relieved that Carter wasn't a 9+ pounder like his big sister and parents! Grandma Judi can't wait to head north to Alaska & Nanna Karen in Maine will be coming in early November, after Carter's Uncle Derek's wedding on November 8th. Busy times! We hope to meet him in January or February if we are all able to go to Disney World together...Eleanor can't wait!

Grandma Judi Update
Talked with my Mom tonight and she sounds wonderful per usual! She has one more weeks worth of radiation treatment to go and says that she has been so pleased with both her care and caregivers. She has struggled with nausea, but eating seems to help it disipate. Her friend MaryAnn is with her now for the homestretch as Dad flew (!!?!!) back to Michigan to be with his Dad & brother for a week. She has been blessed with so many friends visting during her time in Seattle, what a great way to help the time pass! MaryAnn divulged that Mom is eating like a bird but Mom swears she has only lost one pound since my seeing her last in August. Mom meets with her Doctors next week and will return in 2-3 months for a PET scan to determine if the treatment was successful. On a lighter note, the ladies went for manicure & pedicures today so they are enjoying their latest indulgement!

Pumpkin Patch

I think the goats were his favorite animal today b/c he giggled so much when he was with them, although he enjoyed making all the other animal sounds too!
